Sinossi

IT: Sinestesia segue le vicissitudini di quattro giovani adulti in due momenti della loro vita, a ridosso di due episodi drammatici separati l’uno dall’altro da tre anni. In questo lasso di tempo i personaggi sono confrontati con le gioie della quotidianità e con le normali difficoltà della vita. Ma si trovano anche a reagire ai colpi di quel destino che ogni tanto, in modo aleatorio, decide di mettere un bivio nelle vite delle persone. Il personaggio centrale è Alan (Alessio Boni). 
Attorno a lui sua moglie Françoise (Giorgia Wurth), la sua giovane amante Michela (Melanie Winiger), e Igor (Leonardo Nigro), il suo migliore amico.
La trama del film si basa in larga parte sull’osservazione del reale e trae spunto da episodi realmente accaduti. La narrazione è organizzata in capitoli.
Ogni capitolo si ispira ad un genere cinematografico (sentimentale, thriller, comico, drammatico), per mostrare le varie sfaccettature che il quotidiano può assumere. Il centro geografico è il Cantone Ticino, ma vi sono spostamenti in Svizzera romanda e in Svizzera tedesca.

FR: Synesthésie raconte, sur un ton aigre-doux, deux épisodes de la vie de quatre jeunes gens confrontés aux coups du destin. Alan, sa femme Françoise, sa maîtresse Michela et son meilleur ami Igor subissent les aléas du quotidien depuis qu'un accident a cloué Alan sur un fauteuil roulant. La narration, d'une structure circulaire, comporte quatre chapitres : un par personnage, chacun s'inspirant d'un genre cinématographique. Ce sont quatre moments de la même histoire où l'on explore les émotions selon quatre points de vue différents. 
La trame du film est basée en grande partie sur l'observation du réel, s'inspirant de véritables faits-divers pour aborder, avec des genres différents (thriller psychologique, comédie, drame …), les thèmes de l'amitié, de l'amour, de l'infidélité et du handicap. 
Synesthésie est le premier long métrage du réalisateur.

DE: Sinestesia folgt den Wechselfällen vier junger Erwachsenen in zwei Momenten ihres Lebens, die durch zwei dramatische Ereignisse geprägt sind, eines vom andern durch drei Jahre getrennt. In dieser Zeit teilen sie die Freuden und Leiden des Alltags. Aber sie erfahren auch Schicksalsschläge, die manchmal, ganz zufällig, das Leben der Menschen entscheiden. Die zentrale Figur ist Alan. Um ihn herum sind seine Frau Françoise, seine junge Geliebte Michela und Igor, sein bester Freund. 
Die Handlung des Films stützt sich weitgehend auf Beobachtungen der Wirklichkeit und ist inspiriert von realen Ereignissen. Die filmische Erzählung ist in Kapitel unterteilt. Jedes Kapitel wird durch ein Genre-Film gekennzeichnet (Romanze, Thriller, Komödie, Drama), um die verschiedenen Facetten des Lebens zu zeigen. Fast alles wurde im Kanton Tessin gedreht (Bleniotal), aber es gibt einige kurze Abstecher in die deutsche (Luzern) und französische (Genf) Schweiz.
Sinestesia ist der erste Spielfilm von Erik Bernasconi.

EN: Sinestesia chronicles the vicissitudes of four young adults in two moments of their lives which are in turn linked to two dramatic episodes three years apart. The intervening years see the characters confronted by the usual joys and difficulties of everyday life. However, they also find themselves having to react to a destiny which, every now and again, places a crossroads in our way. The main character is Alan (Alessio Boni). 
Around him are his wife, Françoise (Giorgia Wurth), his young lover Michela (Melanie Winiger), and Igor (Leonardo Nigro), his best friend.
The plot of the film is based largely on observations of everyday life and draws on episodes which actually happened. The narration is organised into chapters.
Each chapter is inspired by a particular genre of cinema (Romance, Thriller, Comedy, Drama), in order to show the mundane in its multitude of guises. Mostly set in Canton Ticino, the Italian speaking part of Switzerland, the action also shifts between French and German Switzerland.
