Sinossi

ITA: In fondo alla Val Rovana, Ticino, a 1400 metri, si trovano due paesini: Campo Vallemaggia e Cimalmotto. Trecento anni fa in questi nuclei vivevano mille persone, oggi ne rimangono una cinquantina.
Tre famiglie contadine, tra indigeni e svizzeri d’oltralpe, tre tipi di transumanza, più un discendente della famiglia Pedrazzini, promotore di diversi progetti per la lenta rinascita della regione, sono i protagonisti grazie ai quali questo angolo remoto rimane popolato durante le quattro stagioni.

DEU: Im hintersten Teil des Val Rovana, Tessin, befinden sich zwei kleine Dörfer: Campo Vallemaggia und Cimalmotto. Vor dreihundert Jahren lebten hier tausend Menschen, heute sind es noch fünfzig. Drei Bauern, ein Einheimischer und zwei Deutschschweizer, die drei verschiedene Arten von Berglandwirtschaft betreiben sowie ein Hotelier sind die Protagonisten. Dank ihnen bleibt diese abgelegene Gegend am Talende ganzjährig belebt.

ENG: At the very end of the Rovana valley, two villages can be found at an altitude of 1400 meters: Campo Vallemaggia and Cimalmotto. While a thousand people lived here three hundred years ago, today only fifty remain. The protagonists are three farmers (who are involved in alpine farming with summer grazing) and a local hotelier, who has lived here for many years. In addition, a 90-year-old resident tells the story of her life, which she has spent here since her birth. Thanks to them, this remote area at valley’s end remains alive.
